Graduation Day

Graduation day is here!!  I can’t believe how fast this week went by.  It certainly didn’t feel like a whole week.

What a great day for WPSD students!!! First of, the Earhart team (Cassie and Ethan’s team) won the drawing competition, they created a new design for the space camp patch.

Secondly, for the THIRD time in the row, WPSD students, Cassie and LJ III won King of the Hill award!  They were the last standing pilots!!

Lastly, the highest honor of all, The Right Stuff Award, Ethan Campion has won for having all the characteristic as the first original 7 astronauts had when NASA space program started. I couldn’t be any more proud for our WPSD students!!  Way to go guys!!!! Rest up, you all were sure very busy all week.  Again, I am so proud of you guys!!!

Last full day

My deepest apologies about today’s and yesterday's blog.  After posted the blog yesterday morning, I went straight to ER.  After waiting in the ER, seen by the doctor, got/took meds I didn’t see any of the kids until after dinner.  I only had time to see one group before I needed to get back to the hotel.  So my yesterday’s blog I couldn’t add much comments.  I hope that you enjoyed the pictures otherwise.  I’m starting to feel a little better and I hoping today I will be back to my normal self.

Well today is the last full day for the kiddos.  Both Earhart and Jolly Goddard had their King of the Hill competition (“Top Gun”).  Tomorrow (Friday) at graduation we will find out who the winner is.  Earhart also had their Space Bowl competition today as well.  As for Jolly Goddard, they had their search and rescue game going on in the woods.  The kids had a blast!!!  They really got involved with the game, masked themselves with charcoal.  I am so proud of the kids!!  So tomorrow is graduation!!!  I can’t believe how fast this week went!  Tomorrow we will be heading out.  I’m sad to leave but at the same time, I can’t wait to see my family again.  I’m sure the kids feel the same.

I am hoping to post pictures of graduation before we head out to the airport.  If not I will do it when I get home.  Also I will be adding more pictures to the blog that were sent to me.  I haven’t gotten a chance to do it before.

Thank you all for checking on us and for parents who send their kids down.  I really enjoy their company.  See you back in PA!

True test of knowledge

The kids knowledge are put to a test today.  They were asked to build a rocket, build a heat shield, do a mission and get their crew back to safety and so forth.   I will add more later, I just wanted to get the pictures up for you to see.  Sorry!!  Gotta run!

Shields put to a test.
This one caught on fire!
Poor guy, never stood a chance!
Did they survive?!?  If the egg is still raw and the shell isn't broken through then yes!!

Total inspiration!!!

I really wish you could see what I see.  The kids continue to amaze me every day.  I know I said this before but they really do.  We headed in another full day of activities.  You are starting to see the bond between the kids, most especially after Area 51.  They did an awesome job in team building activities.

Earhart group continues to work on Sim for flying the plane.  Cassie and Ethan are no strangers in being placed in new situations. They adapt so easily to what is going on and they continue to spread their positive attitude towards everyone.  They are always eager to try something new and to get involved.  Today they learned how to build a fire.

It was a big day for Advanced Academy, they climbed a 32 feet pool and jumped off and went scuba diving 25 feet under water.  They really are inspirational.  Watching them supporting one another, cheering them on with every success and failures really just adds on to how proud I am of them.

Jaime is getting ready to go up

I charged camera overnight so we are ready for another busy day! (My camera died right after I took a picture of Jaime on the 1/6th chair) Stay tuned…
